How balancing your root chakra (Muladhara Chakra) kann help you to feel more secure and less anxious.

Our world is turned upside down. We no longer feel secure and safe. Maybe we even feel a bit anxious and fearful of what the future holds. Our heads spin round and round, thoughts about a global crisis occur every once in a while. Will I lose my job, my house, my cushy lifestyle?

If you are struggeling with  thoughts like that, read my last blog post:

and maybe after reading it your mind will slow down a bit.

I also want to help you physically and mentally to feel more grounded and secure with telling you about the energy wheels in your body: Your chakras. Today we start with the first one: The root chakra.

The root chakra represents your basic needs, such as having a home, food to eat and financial security.

It is located at the base of your spine and the pelvic floor. The Muladhara chakra is responsible for your sense of safety and security, it`s element is earth. We have other elements like air, water, ether and fire, which all represent different chakras. The word Muladhara consists of  two Sanskrit words: Mula meaning “root” and Adhara, which means “support” or “base.”

The root chakra is the first of the seven main chakras.

When you balance your root chakra you create a foundation for opening the other chakras.

It is like building a house. First, you start with the foundation (Muladhara) and from there on you add the rest until you finally put a roof (Sahasrara) on your solidly built home.

This chakra consists of whatever let`s you feel stability in life such as food, water, shelter, and safety, as well as your emotional needs, for example letting go of fear. When these needs are met, you feel safe, grounded and you tend to worry and stress less.

Signs for an imbalanced root chakra

On an emotional level you may experience fear, anxiety or nightmares. Futhermore an imbalanced Muladhara chakra may physically show issues with the bladder, the colon, the lower back or the feet. Eating disorders can also be a sign of a root chakra imbalance.

How can you balance Muladhara

I highly recommend a yoga routine, which helps you to get your root chakra in balance. You can find a root chakra sequence on my Instagram account. Meditating  also serves to ground yourself more. Your trust in the higher power of the Universe will give you what you need to feel safe, too. You don`t have to be religious or believe in God, Allah, Jehova or any other god to have that sense of security, just put a little faith in the goodness of this Universe, Mother Earth or whatever you want to call it.

Feel grounded, secure and safe in this crazy but still amazing world that we all live in.

Stay safe – stay gold.
